NUAAE Declares Support for Governor Oyebanji’s Second Term, Hails His Agricultural Reforms

The Nigeria Union of Agriculture and Allied Employees (NUAAE), Ekiti State chapter, has thrown its weight behind Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, endorsing his administration for continuity in 2026.

Chairman of the union, Comrade Ojo Francis Ayodeji, who made the declaration in Ado Ekiti, said the governor’s outstanding performance, particularly in the agricultural sector, has been a Paradigm shift for farmers and agribusiness in the state.

"Governor Oyebanji’s policies have revitalized agriculture in Ekiti. From mechanization support to farmer-friendly initiatives, he has demonstrated a clear commitment to making farming lucrative again. We believe continuity will allow him to consolidate these achievements and take Ekiti agriculture to greater heights," he said.

Comrade Ojo highlighted several strides of the administration, including the provision of free fertilizer to farmers, rehabilitation of farm settlements, and construction of rural roads to ease produce transportation. He also commended the governor’s backing for youth-focused agricultural initiatives, which have encouraged more young people to embrace farming.

He assured the governor of NUAAE’s unalloyed support, emphasizing that the union stands firmly behind his leadership.

"Our endorsement of Governor Oyebanji equally means we are ready to defend this mandate because we have seen real progress. Ekiti people deserve sustained development, and this administration is delivering just that," he added.

Comrade Ojo further appreciated Governor Oyebanji for appointing Hon. Ebenezer Boluwade as Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, describing him as a perfect fit for the role.

He noted that the commissioner has been instrumental in driving the governor’s policies with dedication, ensuring that farmers reap the full benefits of the administration’s agricultural reforms.

"Hon. Boluwade has been tremendous in implementing the governor’s vision for the agricultural sector. His hands-on approach and passion for the job have helped in making Ekiti a model for agricultural development," Ojo said.

He urged Ekiti residents to continue supporting the Oyebanji-led government while warning detractors against attempts to disrupt the state’s steady progress.

"Anyone thinking of distracting this government should have a rethink. Ekiti is moving forward, and we will ensure that Governor Oyebanji continues his good work without disruption," he stated.

The endorsement by NUAAE adds to the growing support for the governor as stakeholders across various sectors acknowledge his transformative leadership in Ekiti State.

Ekiti Guber: Media Juggernaut Slams PDP Aspirant Over Unauthorized Use of State Emblem

NaijaPulse

A seasoned media professional, Hon. Raheem Akingbolu, has taken a swipe at Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant, Dr. Oluyede, for what he described as a blatant misuse of the Ekiti State official emblem in campaign materials.

In a strongly-worded statement, Akingbolu lambasted Dr. Oluyede’s campaign strategy, calling it a "farrago of missteps and mixed messages." While acknowledging the aspirant's right to seek office, he argued that Oluyede’s recurring approach every election cycle reflects desperation and a lack of strategic depth.

"Now, I have just observed a blunder in your poster. Constitutionally, the state insignia can only be used for official matters and documents. But now, you have undermined that straightforward protocol," Akingbolu pointed out.

He further warned that Ekiti people are politically conscious and will not tolerate any form of impunity or disregard for due process.

"Oga Doki, this is Ekiti, we are no fools, and we know our right from our left. Play the game by the rules. It’s not about gangsterism or unnecessary sloganeering; it’s about credibility, trust, and strategy. Nobody can enter Oke Bareke through the backdoor, as this poster appears to suggest. Again, play by the rules," he cautioned.

The use of state emblems in political campaigns remains a contentious issue, as legal provisions restrict their usage to official government purposes. Dr. Oluyede is yet to respond to the criticism.
