BAO Media Centre: Championing Truth and Progress in Ekiti Politics

In the vibrant realm of Ekiti State politics, a group of passionate individuals at the BAO Media Centre are making waves with their commitment to honesty and progress. Led by experienced social media influencers, they've become a reliable source of facts and figures, challenging the narrative of falsehoods spun by the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

Governor Oyebanji's tireless dedication to governance hasn't gone unnoticed. Thanks to the relentless efforts of the Centre and that of the governor's versatile media aides, Ekiti's strides under his leadership are reaching not just locals but also audiences nationwide and even globally.

Meanwhile, the PDP is facing its own internal struggles, with key figures leaving the party in droves. Rather than focusing on addressing these challenges, they've been embroiled in a battle of misinformation. The Centre, however, remains steadfast in its mission to keep the spotlight on progress and truth.

Through their daily engagements and dissemination of accurate information, the Centre isn't just educating Ekiti populace but also shaping the discourse on a larger scale.

It's message is clear: continuity in governance and a commitment to transparency are non-negotiable.

As the BMC continues to champion truth and progress, it's not just about politics—it's about paving the way for a future where integrity and accountability define governance, and where the people of Ekiti thrive.

Congress: Ekiti PDP Media Boys Mock National Executive Over High Party Form Fees

In less than 24 hours since the PDP's NWC announced the prices for party congress forms, social media figures within Ekiti's PDP have transformed the party's platform into a stage for satire and criticism. The focus of their jests lies in questioning the seriousness of the national executives, particularly regarding financial matters and the party's electoral prospects in Ekiti.

This shift towards comedic commentary highlights broader concerns about the state of leadership within the Ekiti PDP. The party is now viewed by many as lacking direction, with open opportunities for mockery and a growing sense of disarray. A media aide to a governorship aspirant even publicly lamented that the media boys within the party are contributing to its problems, showcasing a lack of discipline and cohesion.

The consequences of this perceived lack of discipline are not lost on observers. Past elections in 2018 and 2022 serve as reminders of how internal disarray can cost the party dearly, leading to missed opportunities and dimmed electoral prospects. The current situation has further exacerbated these concerns, with the party now facing ridicule and becoming a laughing stock among both its members and external observers.

This downward spiral has also resulted in the departure of founding members and party stalwarts, as disillusionment grows and faith in the party's ability to lead effectively diminishes. The exodus of these key figures paints a grim picture of the party's current standing and the challenges it must urgently address to regain credibility and unity.

Adigwe began acting at the age of seven. He made his earliest television appearance in Baci and Company, taking over the lead role from Albert Egbe.

His debut movie, Blood of the Orphan, earned him praise. In 2004, he starred in Living Abroad alongside Ernest Asuzu, Emeka Enyiocha, and Anne Njemanze.

In 2019, he portrayed Pascal Nworie in Living in Bondage: Breaking Free.

The death of Adigwe would add to the growing list of actors who have passed away.

Over the past four months, Nollywood has lost six of its own, including Sisi Quadri, Mr. Ibu, Amaechi Muonagor, Andy Best, Jumoke Aderounmu, and Junior Pope.

Appeal Reserved: Baba Ijesha's Challenge to Sexual Assault Conviction Awaits Court's Verdict

April 24, 2024

"The Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, has reserved its judgment in the appeal filed by Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, challenging his conviction for sexual assault by a Lagos State High Court.

Baba Ijesha was convicted on July 14, 2022, for the sexual assault of a minor, and Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) sentenced him to five years in prison.

During Tuesday's hearing, a three-man panel led by Justice Folasade Ojo listened to Baba Ijesha's appeal and reserved judgment, with the date yet to be communicated.

In his appeal, Baba Ijesha argued that the prosecution failed to prove his guilt, particularly regarding the age of the victim. His counsel, Mr. Kayode Olabiran, contended that Baba Ijesha was set up during the incident, citing a script he was asked to act by his colleague Damilola Adekoya.

On the other side, the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Dr. Babajide Martins, urged the court to dismiss the appeal, stating that it lacked merit and was based on misconceptions.

The crux of the debate lies in whether the prosecution adequately established the victim's age at the time of the alleged offense and whether Baba Ijesha's actions constituted sexual assault. The court's decision will be eagerly awaited by both parties involved."

BREAKING : Government seals three worship centres, Gives reason

The Ogun State government has sealed three religious centres in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital, for contravening the state laws on noise pollution and defying government order on the pollution.

The three sealed Churches include Christ Apostolic Church, Fountain of Faith District Headquarters, Gbogunmi, Itedo Alafia Community, Bode Olude, Ambassador of Truth Assembly International, Olorunseye Avenue, Ijeun Titun and Salvation Ministries, Kuforiji Olubi Drive, Adigbe GRA all in Abeokuta.

While sealing the churches, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Environmental Compliance and Enforcement, Farook Akintunde, said all the three churches were sealed after several warnings and dialogue with them to stop the noise pollution emanating from their worship centres proved abortive.

“For Christ Apostolic Church, Gbogunmi, Akintunde said the church was fond of holding evening and night vigils with its loud speakers placed outside its premises at night, thereby disturbing the peace of its immediate community”.

“The community has not only complained, but has written a petition against the church, saying that the noise pollution emanating from the church is affecting the health of their members”

“All efforts to make the presiding Pastor and the Elders of the church see reasons to stop the pollution proved abortive, stressing that no serious government will fold its hands and watch such infractions affecting the health and well-being of its people,” Akintunde stated.

“For Ambassador of Truth Assembly, they were equally found guilty of blaring their loudspeakers at odd times, and aside from incessant noise pollution during their services, worshippers of Salvation Ministries, Adigbe, were unruly and rough handed government officials when sealing their church”.

Akintunde, therefore warned against obstructing government officials from performing their official duties, and advised other religious centres against noise pollution, saying that the state government will not hesitate to seal up any of them found guilty of noise pollution in any part of the state.

Ekiti State, Nigeria – The APC Integrity Caucus, a group dedicated to fostering transparency, accountability, and good governance within the political landscape of Ekiti State, presents a comprehensive assessment of recent developments and statements made by key political figures.

In a recent interview with Punch Newspaper, Funmi Ogun, the current PDP scribe, made statements that have caught the attention of the public and political observers. As a group committed to upholding integrity and transparency, we offer critical insights into these remarks and commendations for the current administration led by Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji.

Our analysis highlights the following key points:

1. *Attention-Seeking Behavior:* We note with concern the attention-seeking behavior exhibited by Funmi Ogun in her recent remarks. This behavior, characterized by criticisms aimed at her political benefactor and attempts to garner headlines, raises questions about her motives and credibility within the political sphere.

2. *Flyover Construction Critique:* We draw attention to the irony in Ogun's critique of the current administration's approach to flyover construction. During her tenure as Commissioner for Works under Fayose's government, Ekiti State faced significant financial challenges, including salary arrears despite federal bailout funds.

3. *Commendation for Prudent Governance:* We commend the Oyebanji administration for its prudent financial management, transparency, and accountability. The availability of information on public fund utilization through the Freedom of Information Act (FOI) reflects a commitment to transparency and good governance.

4. *Positive Initiatives:* The Oyebanji government's initiatives, such as regular pension payments, addressing backlogs, and implementing poverty alleviation programs, within a short timeframe, are laudable and contribute to improving the welfare of Ekiti residents.

5. *Infrastructure Development:* We recognize the ongoing infrastructure development projects, particularly road construction projects across Ekiti State, as vital in enhancing transportation infrastructure, facilitating economic activities, and enhancing the overall quality of life for residents.

6. *Political Realignment Speculations*: We acknowledge speculations regarding Funmi Ogun's potential political realignment, with suggestions of a possible move to align with APC and support Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji's second term bid, amidst forecasts of challenges facing PDP in 2026.

The APC Integrity Caucus remains committed to providing insightful analysis and fostering transparency and good governance within Ekiti State's political landscape.
