Rivers State Caretaker Committee Situation Reviewed by National Working Committee

April 23, 2024

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Rivers State Caretaker Committee conducted an emergency meeting on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, to assess the current state of affairs.

During the meeting, the NWC acknowledged an Ex-Parte Order issued by the Federal High Court in Abuja, which directed the NWC to halt further actions regarding the status of the Rivers State Caretaker Committee List as previously published.

Despite this legal constraint, the Rivers State Caretaker Committee List remains unchanged, aligning with the court's order. Moreover, the NWC commended the proactive involvement of various Party organs, notably the PDP Governors’ Forum, in seeking a political resolution to the challenges faced by the Rivers State Caretaker Committee.

In light of these developments, the NWC, in collaboration with the PDP Governors’ Forum, has committed to escalate efforts towards a mutually agreeable solution for the Rivers State PDP Chapter.

Signed:

Hon. Debo Ologunagba
National Publicity Secretary
